“If It Is To Be, It Is Up To Me!” Dr. Robert Schuller,
I would like to share this first Point to Ponder as a reminder to myself for what lie within me and perhaps you.
I first learned this phase about 20 years ago while I was attending a training of the trainer course by the Junior Chamber International. I remember, the head coach said then, ” Many of you wanted to become a trainer, but you have to BE one before you can become one!” I did not understand then what he meant. Few years later, I attended a similar course by the same trainer and was more prepared and ended up BEcoming the best garduate for that year. But I was still not really understand or BE it.
Years passed, the passion of BEcoming a trainer faded away while my professional involved provding training for my sales teams and to customers, it was a different ball game. It just cannot create that sparkling feeling in these trainings I did. I am still not BE it.
Some 8 years ago, I joined one MLM company and build one of the largest group in my state. BEing a leader of the group, naturally you have to provide trainings for your downlines leaders and members,and I was a little BE and this same phase ” If It Is To BE, It Is Up To ME!” cropped up again and again in many tarining seminars we did and attended. I reminded myself that I must make this Home Business Work as I have almost half of the state memberships in my group. But I am still not totally BE it. Three years later, I left that company and my business because of ethical differences in the business approach, but I have no regret.
And while writing an article for an ezinearticles directory today, I decided to write something about MLM (you can read some of them here)eventhough I have left and not involved in any since then; I took out a book from my home library and it was Dr. Robert Schuller ” If It’s Going TO BE, It’s Up to ME!” It just jump out right in front of me. And in this book, it also written that ” The Dream of Doing Leads to Success. The Dream of BEING leads to Significance.”
Let’s this BE a reminder to me that to live a life of Significance, I first have to BE, DO and then HAVE. There is only one person that can make that happen, and that’s is ME.
